stumble
[I have a tumblr. Follow me.]

I have been thinking of adding a new section in my gallery entitled 'Film Photography' filled with, well my film shots obviously.

I have a few strewn elsewhere but I do love my film photography. Or perhaps I could entitle it 'Personal Work'? But then again most of my work is personal anyway. I'm not sure. I am developing a whole lot of film soon so we'll see what good comes out of that.

I'm going back to Melbourne tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing my friends again and then moving house on wed to a spare room in my friend Maddi's house which will be fun; but I'll have to get anothre job asap if I want to move into a decent place with Steph before uni. But at least things are moving along. Gosh I wish I could get some decent photography work. I hope something comes along soon.

Goodbye Perth. Hello Melbourne. Goodbye 2009. Hello 2010.
Thanks for the shots Caitlin.

goodbye 2009, hello twenty-ten
So much has just made this year the best. I've lived in new places, started at a new university, met new people, changed in style, lifestyle and personality. I became vegan and have come to love you I am. Still learning how to live but I think I will until the day I die. It's been amazing. I don't know what else to say. My photography definately leapt leaps and bounds this year and hopefully it will go further in 2010. I am so excited to be somewhere I am familiar with. Too many times I've started a new year in a foreign place and environment and been lost for half the time. I'm ready to be comfortable.

tumblr
it's funny. as soon as i actually decide to start blogging here again, i start another blog. oh dear. but my tumblr is more of an inspiration blog. somewhere i can store a lot of ideas and collect others. here i talk more and it's more of an update and upkeep in the world specific to my photography work and art. nothing as personal.

i have been taking a lot of film photos in the past week. i can't wait to develop them but that might have to wait until i get back to melbourne. it could be more exciting that way. have been out and about with caitlin more and seeing allegra as well. i rather like this shot i took of caitlin. she looks lovely and the colors and quite interesting with the stars and the glitter and shine. very unintentional but beautiful.

you may follow me on tumblr if you like. it's also beautiful.

no specific shoots coming up but hopefully when housing is settled and i have some money and time to spare. i'll keep you updated as i said i would. whoever you are.

Merry Christmas
It's been a long time. A really long long time since I last blogged. But I'll try pick up the pace again. University work was taking over my time and then I got into a non-shooting rut and then I forgot about this thing for a while. But I did shoot again properly recently so that's probably what's got me going again. I want to open a new section in my website just for the film shots I take. I don't know. I really don't want to create another website...it's so annoying having to maintain so many different websites. Which is why this blog is on my photography portfolio website. So it's all in one place. Anyway, it's christmas. I will blog more frequently and I will try and get some more paid photography work.

Here are some shots from recently.

vain
Not that I feel vain. But do go here and have a look at this amazing spread. This is what I strive for. This is why I dislike client work and this is why I want to keep photography as art over work. So that nothing is sacrificed.

Just an update on my current status. So much is going on. Started Uni and am looking for work and trying to organize my home situation. I just want to stop moving and get work so I can do other things. Things to stop being hectic. Keep your fingers crossed for me and I can start to relax and get back on track with photos.

I miss it already.

tricky tricky
Just to keep a track of the work I am really looking at doing when I get back to Melbourne. I would like to work in a studio and create some really clean cut and simple but high fashion images. A beautiful modela dn mua and hairstylist and wardrobe and everything. It's getting a studio that I am thinking might be tricky. Here are two images on track with my thoughts:

Numbero Dos
Location: TBA
Date/Time: 15th July @ 11:00am
Models: Allegra Keogh & Jordi Levin
Designer: She Said Yoo Hoo
Make-up: Clare Kenward
Photographers: Me & Caitlin Worthington

I need to collect a new set of inspiration for this shoot. It will also be on location and Lauren would like to create lots of nice silhouettes. So if the background is plain, which I hope it is then I have a few ides. I'm leaving for Melbourne on the 16th so this will be a nice finish to my time in Perth. We are working with Allegra again which will be nice and a new mua and model this time.

I'm hoping an earlier start will make things more comforable and less hectic. I am so happy that I am able to expand my fashion portfolio. I've also noticed that I have a lot of mid-shots. So I really need to improve on doing some more wide-shots as well as real close-ups.

Inspired by Akif Hakan Celebi this time. Apart from the ideas swimming around in my head. I am thinking along the lines of these.

powerhouse
So this is how the shoot went. We were a little late for the shoot to start with but the weather was good. Like Caitlin said, all the clouds were a huge softbox which meant it was lit in all directions with no shadows. It was a little cold and the coffee we had that morning was gross and all milk. I don't like to pay 3.50 for a mug of milk. Elsie started on make-up first and we organized outfits. We went for rather plain eyes and decided on colourful lips. Lauren and Allegra brought tons of clothes so we had a nice bunch to choose from and did some individual shots before heading down to the abandoned powerhouse to shoot inside the wrecked building. Then we got some shots of them done together and got out of there before security came and chased us out.

The End. [I am very happy with the shoot]

Overlay
One of my latest inspirations is the photographer Toeps.
The portraits are b e a u t i f u l ♥
I think that I have become so mediocre with my work and creativity. I really need to try something different. It's just so bland and doesn't have the magic anymore. Not that it really ever did. Sick of being mediocre and just so bland I want to be exciting. Overlay and overlay and experiment in photoshop. Not manipulate but just like putting together the pieces of the puzzle. Thinking outside the box and imaging before I take that photo...imagining what I can do from here and with this and with that and all of this, and that.

rain
rain [reyn] noun -
1. water that is condensed from the aqueous vapor in the atmosphere and falls to earth in drops more than 1/50 in. (0.5 mm) in diameter.
2. a rainfall, rainstorm, or shower: We had a light rain this afternoon.
3. weather marked by steady or frequent rainfall: We had rain most of last summer.

usually i like the rain. even better if i'm running around in it without expesive camera gear in my hands. better if other people are running with you and laughing while doing so is a bonus. sleeping while it rains outside. the light pitter patter is soothing. after rain the rainbows greet us and the streets are wet and slippery and shiny. glittery and shiny. so pretty.

but when i am trying to do a photoshoot where rain is not planned. then its a shame. such a shame that we have to reschedule or cancel or postpone. please stop raining when i want to shoot. i dont like it anymore.
